Owner, Trainer, and Adventure Guide Meagan McLellan has been working with dogs for over 15 years.
Meagan is Certified in K9 First Aid as well as Advanced Wilderness First Aid.
She is a passionate dog lover as well as long time fitness and wilderness enthusiast.
In the 15 years Meagan has fallen deeply in love with dogs, and the beautiful relationships they form with their human companions.
Meagan has dedicated her personal and work life to the rehabilitation, and rescue of dogs, helping their families understand them, and how to live peacefully, safely and with minimal stress, creating a balanced relationship, formed on love and respect.
For the past 15 years Meagan has been observing and studying and training groups of dogs, individual dogs, rescue dogs, shelter dogs, your average dog, and the relationships they hold with humans and other dogs.
During the 15 years Meagan has designed and refined her Positive Relationship Foundations Program (P.R.F).
Meagan has created several fun and engaging, training programs for you and your dog to enjoy.
Such as, off leash hikes, care, events, outings and classes for you and your dogs to socialize in a safe and controlled environment.
Meagan has formed a wonderful and passionate team of enthusiastic dog lovers to help deliver these services at Elite.
At Elite we believe in foundations built of love and respect, we will teach you to re-build the relationship from the ground up. You will never have to use harsh, brutal or unnecessary training methods to get control of your dog, regardless of their size breed, temperament or history.
Building a relationship rich in trust starts with building a foundation on love and respect.
All of the dogs that go through our training programs at Elite will start with P.R.F building a strong foundation of leadership in the home and with all dog handlers.
Meagan has served clients their dogs from all over the world, Meagan is based in the city of Nanaimo, BC.
Her goal although her methods over time have evolved, her goal is consistent " improve the relationship between dog and handler, while keeping everyone safe and happy"
When Meagan is asked what drives her to work with challenging dogs, through good days and bad days, she says,
"keeping dogs out of shelters, and saving them from being put down gives me a unbelievable amount of energy and joy"

Meagan is a strong believer in positive Reinforcement, Leadership (not dominance) Socialization and Desensitization.
As well as setting your dog up for success, by teaching the desired behaviour before expecting it to change or correcting negative behaviours.
These are the main training methods used, in combination with proper exercise and
nutrition at Elite.
All dogs no matter where, or what state of mind they are starting from, can learn to be happy, loving, functional members of the family.
No dog will be discriminated against while, taking the necessary safety precautions.
